OUR FOUNDERS
Arman Gharavi
Managing Partner
Arman started his career in the field of energy working on alternative energy solutions. Over the years he worked with over 200 suppliers globally purchasing supplies for the manufacturing division as well as creating strategic partnership with technology providers. He then became the Business Development Manager of the group leading all marketing, branding, sales & strategic direction of the group from a business end.
Arman managed client relationships for the alternative water solutions products working with clients such as Skydive Dubai, Crown Prince of Dubai office, Al Wasel, Dubai Creek Golf Club, Emirates Golf Club, Etisalat, Al Fahim Group, Versace Hotel & Abshar restaurant to name a few.
He then moved into construction and did project management for OPD group managing relationships with VIP clients as well as created business strategies.
Over the years he has also provided consultancy to clients in the fields of healthcare, financial institutions & technology companies. He has almost a decade of experience in business development, sales, corporate law & operations.
Arman is very fond of arts, cinema, theater, music & sports.
Amir Akhlaghi
Managing Partner
Amir is a seasoned designer with 29 years of experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, Furniture Design, Master Planning, Landscape Design & has over a decade of experience teaching Architecture & Design in IAU, Dubai.
He started his design studio in Dubai in 2006 with a philosophy of transparency and contextual designing which is a gap he felt in the market. His design philosophy is based on contextual designs that pay attention to the practical layers of a design whilst at the same time having the possibility of a different visual layer. This way you can have a modern design but still honoring traditional practices and utilities required in the region, culturally and environmentally. His third layer of design is about compatibility with technology and utilizing them to save energy and to create modern spaces for the future.
Founding OPD was not just a foundation for him to bring his ideas to life but also provided him with the opportunity to practice responsible design and work only on projects that matched with his sustainable design principals.
Amir is a family man who spends most of his time with his kids but is also fond of photography, cinema, reading & sports.
